from acne struggles to building facebar

facebar didn’t start as a business idea.

It started with acne.

our founder, Erin, struggled with acne throughout her teenage years and into adulthood. like so many people dealing with persistent breakouts, she tried everything — drugstore products, prescription skincare, dermatologist visits, and eventually Accutane.

for a while, things improved.

but skin has a way of changing.

during pregnancy, Erin experienced acne again — a reminder of how unpredictable and frustrating skin can be. later, as a parent, she watched her own kids begin to go through their own acne struggles.

and she noticed something that stuck with her:

most people are never actually taught how to care for their skin.

there was a huge gap between expensive medical treatments and the confusing advice people see online. facials were often treated as luxury experiences instead of something that could genuinely help people understand and manage their skin.

Erin believed skincare could be different.

she wanted to create a place where people could come regularly for affordable, educational facials that actually helped them learn about their skin.

that idea became facebar.

the concept was simple:
